The department of Plastic and reconstructive surgery is one of the hospitals flagship departments, being the only one of its kind in the South of Spain to offer the full range of reconstructive microsurgery, ranging from free flap reconstruction for the female breast , over head and neck reconstruction to a reimplantation service for sevred extremities.

The department disposes of a Zeiss S-88 operating microscope and full microsurgery gearing, as well as a microsurgery laboratory and offers reconstructive microsurgery for other specialities such as traumatology, maxillofacial surgery, head and neck surgery and gynecology.
