Wound Management
Wound managment generally deals with the special treatment of slowly healing wounds. Wounds require special care if the cannot be closed surgically, are infected or chronical. Factors influencing delayed wound healing are identified an minimized if possible. Patient-related factors are age, diabetes, vascular disease, alimentation and others. Drugs negatively influencing wound healing are identified.
My long-term experience with the treatment of long-term wounds as a ward nurse in the Department of Plastic Surgery of the University clinic RWTH Aachen encouraged me to proceed onto obtaining a masters degree in wound care at the renowned Kammerlander-Academy.
Since then I have been working as a wound care consultant in different hospitals and have a very busy private wound care practice.
Should you or one of your relatives be affected by a chronic, non-healing wound problem I am very glad to offer my expertise in treatment of wounds with modern dressing materials, closure of slowly healing wounds. I am also very happy to instruct relatives, if desired, in the necessary steps of modern home wound care.
For my initial consultation it is very helpful for me to have as much of medical history as possible, including previous treatments, hospitalization and related illnesses.
