How does the laser liposuction work ?
In minimally invasive laser liposuction laser light at a determined a specific pulse breaks the fat cells and liquifies the fat.
The specific laser wavelength used for laser liposuction is also absorbed selectively by red blood cells and therefore the use of laser in liposuction
prevents bleeding.
The key advantage in laser liposuction is that the laser also causes the deeper layers
of the skin, the so called dermis, to retract evenly.
This prevents saggy skin after the liposuction procedure
This does not happen in conventional liposuction.
Scientific literature on laser liposuction documents possible skin retraction up to 25%.
What anesthesia is needed for laser liposuction ?
Laser liposuction is a local anestesia procedure.
What are recovery periods after laser liposuction?
Laser liposuction alone is usually used for smaller problem areas, especially the
neck.
If laser liposuction is used alone for these indications, there is no recovery.
So I can not have laser liposuction for larger amounts of fat ?
If patients want to tackle larger areas of fat, we recommend to combine jet
liposuction and laser liposuction.
Jet liposuction is used for removing larger amounts of deep fat, and laser
liposuction is used for the superficial layers for effective and even skin
retraction.
For us,this combination is the gold standard in liposuction surgery and gives excellent results.
When is conventional tumescent technique used ?
In our practice never.
We regard tumescent liposuction to be an outdated technique, and it’s use is not
justifiable any more.
Jet liposuction and laser liposuction are more precise, safer and less traumatic than tumescent liposuction, which we believe must not be used any more.
What is the difference between laser liposuction and the so called “VASER” liposuction technique?
VASER liposuction uses ultrasound instead of laser energy.
It is a a good and modern liposuction technology, although we believe that laser liposuction is more precise.
